Components of a Computer

There are 5 components of a computer that is:
1-Input Devices
2-Output Devices
3-System Unit
4- Storage Devices
5-Communication Devices


1) Input Devices
    -any hardware component that allow you to enter data and instructions into a computer
  • Keyboard
  • Microphone
  • Mouse
  • Scanner
  • Web
2) Output Devices
    -any hardware component that convey information to one or more people
  • Printer
  • Monitor
  • Speakers
3) System Unit
     -Case that contains elecrtronic components of the computer that are used to process data
     - Connected to motherboard processor
  • Processor/Cpu (central processing unit) 
           -electronic component that interprets and carries out the basic instructions that operate the computer
         
  • Memory
          -Electronic component that store instructions waiting to be executed and data needed by those instructions.




4) Storage Devices
     -records(writes)and retrieves (reads) item to and form storage media
    -source of input
         a) Storage
              -holds data,instructions and information for future use.


         b) storage media
              -keeps data, instructions and information from computer


5) Communication Devices
    -hardware component that enables a computer to send and receive data, instructions and information to and form one or more computer or mobile devices


             a) modem
             b) telephone lines
             c)cables
